Bucks County as Muse: A Cabaret Celebrating Art, Music, and Nature

From artists like the Pennsylvania Impressionists, to Broadway lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, to author James A. Michener, Bucks County has long provided the backdrop for creative inspiration. Through story and song, distinguished cabaret singer and songwriter Karen Gross honors Bucks County as muse, with a focus on the music of the early 20th century when Pennsylvania Impressionism flourished. Karen weaves in her own journey from Bucks County to Philadelphia to New York City, performing in venues including New Hope's Cabaret at Odette's, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Lincoln Center. Join Karen for this musical tale of following the muse and also finding it right at home.

Special guest for Brad Zimmerman at the Sellersville Theater

Please join me for a fabulous evening of comedy and song! I’m thrilled to be back at the beautiful Sellersville Theater as special guest for Brad Zimmerman! I’ll be joined on piano by the awesome Anil Veeraraj.

Please click here for tickets

Well known as Johnny Sack's lawyer in “The Sopranos,” stand up comedian, actor and writer Brad Zimmerman returns to Sellersville Theater with his hilarious show “My Rise To The Middle,” a sequel to “My Son The Waiter, A Jewish Tragedy.” Brad's comments on his childhood, family, misbegotten love life and career are as warm and poignant as they are hysterical. Brad opened for Joan Rivers for over seven years, who said of him, “I’ve had three great opening acts in my lifetime: Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling and Brad Zimmerman.” With that kind of company, can you stand to miss this show?

Described as “a queen of sophisticated cabaret with a naughty streak” by Philadelphia City Paper, cabaret singer and comedienne Karen Gross returns after previously appearing as special guest for comedians Brad Zimmerman and Robert Klein. Whether singing a heartfelt ballad or cracking jokes about the ups and downs of romance, Karen keeps it classy, sassy and real.

Let's Misbehave - A Roaring Twenties Cabaret

Encore performance by popular demand!

SOLD OUT! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Tickets available at http://letsmisbehavecabaret.eventbrite.com

The show will begin at 8 p.m., with a pre-show reception and an opportunity to tour the Studio of Ben Solowey starting at 7:30 p.m.

Distinguished cabaret singer Karen Gross (featured at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kimmel Center, and Lincoln Center in NYC) will highlight the music, culture, and revelry of the Roaring Twenties in an intimate art gallery-meets-cabaret setting. Presented at the Studio of Ben Solowey, the program includes beloved, timeless favorites by the likes of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Hoagy Carmichael, as well as sassy, lesser-known gems sung by trailblazing performers like Sophie Tucker, Josephine Baker, and Bessie Smith. Karen will weave in anecdotes about Ben Solowey's life and work, the surrounding artwork in the gallery space, and the musical legacy of the 1920s -- transporting guests back nearly 100 years. Let's Misbehave is directed by Kristine Zbornik, with musical direction/piano by Seth Weinstein.

Located on a beautiful farm property in Bucks County, PA, the Studio of Ben Solowey (http://solowey.com) is a one-of-a-kind arts destination dedicated to preserving the work and workplace of acclaimed artist Ben Solowey. According to Edward J. Sozanski, the art critic of The Philadelphia Inquirer, "When you visit the studio of Ben Solowey, you do more than see an exhibition, you enter an artist's world....The charm of [the Studio] is its sense of intimacy and immediacy."

Make a weekend of it by staying nearby at one of Bucks County's beautiful bed & breakfasts!
